Backend Software Engineer

The role

Our software is built from the ground up to be scalable, robust and manageable. The backend platform has been engineered with great care to support cloud, on-prem and hybrid deployments and to scale up or down to accommodate any deployment scenario and size. In this role, you will be involved in architecture and design decisions as well as hands-on implementation of key aspects of our backend infrastructure. This means working closely with our algorithm experts and our core technical team, designing code to deal with large volumes of data and intense processing in a distributed compute environment. You will be a key contributor to our software development.

Qualifications

This role requires very strong software development and platform skills. We think you can smoothly deal with a range of technologies, development frameworks and programming languages, such as cloud-native, databases, docker, kubernetes, Go, Julia, Python, Linux, Git and REST.

While relevant experience will be highly valued, we do welcome newly graduated and junior engineers. It comes down to the profile of and chemistry with the individual candidate.

Pre-sales and Customer Project Engineer

The role

We are looking for a tech-loving and business minded engineer to strengthen sales and customer delivery. In this role, you will work closely with existing customers and our core development team to implement RockSigma solutions in the customer environment. You will also work alongside our sales and marketing team, providing technical sales support, demonstrations and presentations as we build out our customer base. The role is centered around making sure that customers get the most out of our implementation. RockSigma serves the global mining market and traveling will be required for this role.

Qualifications

We think you are an excellent communicator with strong software skills. The people you will work with on the customer side include decision making managers, IT staff, rock mechanics and geotechnical engineers and seismologists. Learning to understand and speak their language will be a success factor in this role.

The software skills we are looking for include serverless, cloud-native, microservices and distributed computing. Tools, methods and platforms include Azure, Postgres, CI/CD, GitOps, REST, Linux, Go and Julia.

Software Development and Operations Engineer

The role

As part of growing our development team, we are now looking for someone to strengthen our DevOps processes. We work with containerized software, built for hybrid deployment spanning the public clouds, private on-prem clouds and appliances depending on the customer scenario. Our development team is test driven and works with CI/CD concepts. This role will be vital to our frequent release and deploy approach, making sure we dynamically scale up or down as needed to cost effectively manage customer expectations. You will work in our core development team to build out new features as well as looking after operations.

Qualifications
